Life itself in Bali is going to remain attractive and very affordable, because Indonesia is developing in a slow, but steady pace. Gold is presently increasing in value, but still there is no guarantee for long term stability. Laws on western property ownership in Indonesia have been relaxed again in April 2010. Foreigners can now hold a Government title on property for 70 years with the option to extend. The Indonesian Government understands the need to improve the foreign investment climate and has again, one month later, in May 2010, announced further legislation to encourage private foreign investment into property.
